I follow quite a few blogs but have probably narrowed in on my favorites in relation to their niche. My favorite DIY, natural, for your home blog is One Good Thing By Jillee. She has the greatest and easiest ideas and solutions but this one that I’m sharing with you today has been on my list to make for a few weeks now.
Both of my girls have been sick and remarkably I wasn’t… until now. So, I got out my ingredients and decided to put Ol’ Jillee’s concoction to the test and I’m super pleased with the result. She calls them a shower disc but I call them sinus discs. Here’s why; you are suppose to put them in your shower and turn on the hot water. The disc begins to dissolve as it mixes in with the water and you breath in this amazing, naturally infused steam. I tried that, but my ceilings are too high and the bathroom is too big so I don’t really get steam.
EASY SOLUTION: I boiled water in my tea kettle and poured that onto a disc in a large bowl, grabbed a beach towel, and went incognito under it all.
Oh my gosh, i felt like the arctic was rushing through my septum
but immediately began to blow my nose and felt things starting to loosen up. But wait… there’s a bonus- you get a facial too because that steam is completely cleaning your pores and clarifying your skin.
I’m so happy with this sinus disc, that I decided to put it in a cute little container and gift some to one of my dearest friends who has horrible allergies and sinus problems. It was so easy to make and the products were even easier to buy. You can get it all from Amazon and I’ll list the product and links below. I had some essentials already from young living and Sprouts but as long as you use a quality grade oil it’s fine. Enjoy and let me know what you think!
2. Essential oils (eucalyptus, rosemary, peppermint, lemon)
4. Baking Soda
5. rolling pin
8. tea kettle
The only alteration I made was I added one and a half teaspoon of crushed menthol crystals instead of just one teaspoon. Here is the link to One Good Thing By Jillee and her recipe for the sinus disc.
Here’s to good health and praying I get mine back ASAP.
