Valentines Cottonwood Cosmo-
Today is extra special because not only am I talking about my Valentines plans but you also have the privilege of reading four other bloggers fantastic cocktail recipes. If you’re visiting from Jenn Loyd’s site, welcome!! Aren’t we lucky to share the same beautiful friend?
Valentine’s Day has never been important to me.
I think it was much more fun as a little girl. Taking in valentines, swapping them with my classmates, and strongly believing that if I received the candy heart that said “Be Mine” from the cute boy than he really liked me. I mean of course he strategically gave me that particular piece of candy.
With that being said, we do celebrate just on a low key level.
This year I thought it would be fun to have an outdoor movie, accompanied with a cocktail and charcuterie and cheese board. Choosing the cocktail was tough because my husband primarily drinks Cîroc on the rocks. As I was brainstorming I remembered my bonus mom telling me about this super tasty martini she recently drank at the Matsu Lodge in Wasilla, Alaska. It’s their signature drink called the Cottonwood Cosmo derived from the Black Cottonwood tree which is the largest broadleaf tree in the lower coastal region of Alaska.
Living in Arizona, we’re able to enjoy the outdoor weather during the winter months. I thought we’d have a drink from one of the greatest outdoor locations on earth. My home state!

Cottonwood Cosmopolitan
This is a crisp and refreshing drink and simple to make. That’s my criteria for a cocktail or any recipe for that matter. Try it and let me know what you think!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Vodka We prefer Ciroc
- 1/4 cup Triple sec
- 1/3 cup White grape juice
- 1 tbsp Squeezed lime juice
- 1 slice Lime for garnish
- 1 Maraschino cherry
Instructions
-
Mix all the ingredients, except the cherry, in a martini shaker. Shake hard! Strain mixture over ice into a martini glass, long or short stemmed and place a cherry in the glass to serve.
Now… you have to try Bethany’s cranberry mimosa. Grab your coffee, or wine, because you’ll want to stay there a while. xoxo

Definitely going to have to try this recipe! Sounds like a perfect Valentine’s Day in.
I want a date night in your backyard! Looks so pretty!
Come on over, we’ll have a galentines party. xo

It was so good and easy! I can’t wait to try yours. It’s been too long since I’ve had gin.
Ok babe wer is the movie screen in the photos! I thought a good Valentine’s Day date night, would be this wonderful spread and a outdoor showing of an NBA matchup. Despite that lack of sports, I can’t wait to spend Valentine’s Day with the love of my life! Great job love the post, you rock!!!!!
