Dear Mindy is a platform to discuss sensitive issues from real, live perspectives. A safe place where people can talk about their concerns or current issues and have a conversation with me without bias or background interference.
Through writing and research, I’ve found many of my own biases regarding women, victimization, grief, healing, forgiveness, and love. As I sat in the police station for hours sifting through my Mom’s case file, I had a thought and it hasn’t left me. I’ve scrutinized it and figured out where and why it even existed and you’ll see more of that through my blog and eventually my book when it’s released. There is an incredible need for women to develop new traits like dignity and self-worth to potentially decrease the probability of becoming a victim.
There is an even greater need for society to change the narrative of women who’ve been assaulted. They are not to blame for another human’s lack of self control and inexcusable behavior.
What You Can Expect:
- Common Topics from real perspectives
- References from major Women leaders
- Letters from Readers and My replies (Dear Mindy)
- Book recommendations, mostly in the form of Self-Improvement/Development but also Romance Thrillers and some Memoirs.
As you read and thumb through, tell me your thoughts and experiences. I’ve come to believe that shared narratives unite the lonely, expose the popularly hidden secrets we carry, and relieve the pressure of shame. I think we all need this.
